Sam Danan Shoot

Today’s shoot was with the amazing Sam Danan. We got together because I was inspired by a photographer that she introduced me to named Jatecson. I wanted to focus on his style, but I ended up taking my own direction and I am happy with the results~! I love that we actually got out today because in the morning it was pouring raining and we were going to call off the shoot. But noon came around and so did the sun! We shot at random local locations in Santa Ana and Fullerton, the first for the gritty building n the second for the lovely sky/clouds. :) I wish i could get out and shoot more on days like this!

Studo shoot- Melissa

Here is s sample of the recent photoshoot I did with Melissa 'Honey' McNeil. The original idea was to shoot at a new location outdoors, but unfortunately this weekend was predicted to be rainy and freezing so I decided to try something in-studio! This was an attempt to try out a studio setup technique that I stumbled across when reading Zack Arias's blog. It was quite a challenge to say the least. THANKFULLY my good friend Brent Powers (a fellow photographer) who is great with strobist lighting help me set up and assisted me for the whole shoot! I look forward to testing out this same setup in a bigger studio space, that way I could take advantage of all the opportunities this studio setup could provide.
Dont get me wrong though, either way the shoot was fun~! I got to test out my new Canon 5d Mark II (!!!!) which I am blessed and excited to get to know. To welcome in the 'full-frame experience' I will attempt to shoot and upload something new every weekend for at least the next month. :) Well, I will upload some more finished photos as soon as I can.

Sam and Liz Engagement shoot Final

Here are some of the final images from my last shoot~! This engagement session turned out great. All of the trees in the location made for some beautifully earthy shots which worked well with the colors of their Renaissance clothing. Hope you like!

Sam & Liz Engagement shoot

I was really happy to do this shoot this morning. Sam and Liz are a great couple who are having a Renaissance themed wedding! That sounds like so much fun to me! We shot the engagement photos early this morning at Yorba Linda Regional Park~ fully dressed in Renaissance garments :) They loved the end result and now we are discussing shooting their wedding as well in late April! I'm super excited~! Big thank-you to Sam and Liz for calling me and coming out so early this morning~ They are such a sweet couple and I look forward to working with them again!

Back to the Grind!

So I went from a planned photography slump to an ACTUAL photography slump at the end of 2010. I've been battling between this incessant urge to shoot-more-do-more and this reluctance to get off my butt. But yes, 2011 is a new year and I'm officially back! Finally! I am excited to get back behind the camera for fun and business.
I'm booking shoots for Jan and Feb~ Show me some love! I'm also working on my portfolio website this semester, all hand-done and personally designed! Wish me luck :D

Kendra Photoshoot- sample

Here's a sample from this morning's photoshoot, starring the beautiful Kendra Maple. I must say that she is definitely a model client. Yes, she does look like a model ;) but also she was so on key with her props, wardrobe, and location! I was impressed! She was so excited for the shoot and it turned out excellent!
I cant wait unveil the rest of the photos~ so i'll try to finish them as soon as possible. This is one of the very few shoots I've had lined up for the next few months. I've fallen off the map due to my rigorous schedule, but i'm glad for the opportunity to do this shoot. I hope you like it!
